Foschini Group rolls out Gift Cards to all stores

In July 2009, the Foschini Group board took the decision to implement the eCentric Gift Card Solution and instructed that the solution had to be fully implemented and rolled out to all stores by the middle of November 2009, giving the project team just five months to implement.

The Foschini Group comprises of 14 brands including Foschini, Luella, Fashion Express, Donna-Claire, Exact!, Matrix, Sterns, American Swiss, Markhams, Totalsports, Sportscene, Due South, @home, and @homelivingspace, together comprising 5500 point of sales countrywide.

The eCentric Switch Gift Card solution is a powerful solution for managing gift cards. It can be configured to support virtually any business rules from fixed value cards to discount vouchers and can be integrated to operate seamlessly with a retailers existing systems. Very importantly, the eCentric Gift Card solution is fully integrated with the industry leading ReconAssist system, ensuring all transactions are accurately settled and reconciled.

The project was initiated in July of 2009 and had to be piloted and fully implemented before the Christmas I.T freeze. The experienced eCentric team was up to the challenge and not surprisingly delivered this high profile project on time and within budget. The project benefited from the strong foundation laid by the recently implemented card switching solution rolled out with eCentric. This provided a strong technical framework for the implementation of this project. The proven switching solution, point of sale, wide area network and back office systems combined with the experienced and cohesive project teams resulted in the project being delivered on time and within budget.

The Foschini management team were very pleased with the successful implementation of this project. The Foschini Group Board are thrilled that this Gift Card project was implemented within the tight timelines available to the project team and the anticipated business benefits are being realised.
