Second Production Processing Site installed in Johannesburg
eCentric Switch has successfully migrated all of its backup systems from the alternate site in Cape Town to the new site in Gauteng. This site has been commissioned in partnership with Verizon Business. All production systems are replicated at both sites and provide a fully redundant processing and networking capability.
A full Active/Active implementation for EFT and VAS means that downtime caused by a failure to a system, a network, or Eskom will have minimal impact on service at the checkouts.
The process to achieve Active/Active has taken over two years and provides our retail customers continuity of service in the event that Cape Town is buried under Table Mountain.
